Wade's Operation Smile Quilt

Wade has collected lots of Operation shirts from all the different countries he has been to, and from all the student events he has organized.  Most of these t-shirts he actually designed.  They've just been sitting in a garbage bag for a couple of years so I decided to make them into a quilt for him.  Mom my deserves most of the credit because she walked my through it step by step and did all the math to figure it all out.  Thanks mom!!!

I sent a couple of fabric squares to Virginia to have some of Wade's old coworkers sign them and make something fun for him to remember.

I gave it to him for Christmas which actually turned out to be a great time to make it because he quit Operation Smile and started with Ecoscraps that same month.  It was sort of a bitter-sweet thing.

Now where do we put it?

Christmas

I'm finally getting to my Christmas post.  There are a ton of pictures and probably not a lot of words, so here ya go.

The Hooton's are lucky enough to have Santa come visit us every year and for the past two years he has come to our house to see all the cousins.

Then on Christmas Eve we decorated a ginger bread house.  We were both surprised at how well Wells did with putting on the small decorations.  He was so fun to watch.

Setting out cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.  Wells was a bit confused why he couldn't eat the cookies and that Santa was going to sneak into our house and get them all for himself.  I don't blame him for being confused.

Christmas Day!!!

Grandma Hooton gave Wells this little bear who made cute little noises and had a little bottle to feed it with. Wells loved it and was in his own little world the whole day just taking such good care of his little bear. Wells found this little bib and wrapped his bear up in it's "Blankie"

This year he grasped some parts of Santa, yet didn't ask or expect for gifts.  We had such a good Christmas we could't have asked for anything more.

P.S. For those of you in the Farr family I'm sorry I didn't take any picture of when we came to Grandma and Grandpa Farr's house.  I guess you could say he had such a blast we just forgot to take pictures.  Or you could say by that time of night we were all pictured out ;)
