A few days ago Wells pulled out a yogurt from our fridge and ran to his high chair and said, "EAT!!!". Usually I say, "okay but mommy has to feed you" and he throws a huge fit that he can't do it himself. So this time I was not willing to fight so I let him go at it. I suited him up for the big event by rolling up his sleeves , putting on his biggest bib and handing him his weapon of choice... a poon (as Wells calls it).
While he was enjoying his time with his yogurt, I got soooo much done. I cleaned up his toy room and put most of it away in storage and some to DI, I swept our floors and vacuumed the whole upstairs!
These pictures are for you to enjoy knowing you didn't have to clean up the mess. (The mess was well worth it though).
Why is it so fun to take pictures of children making a mess? Somehow they are just so cute...
This cracks me up because I swear, Wells is usually such a neat eater. Every time I've fed him I've been amazed at how little food gets on his face or on the floor. Especially compared to my messy little munchkin! But it looks like he really, REALLY enjoyed that yogurt and I know you really, REALLY enjoyed your few minutes of alone time to get stuff done!
ReplyDeleteAlthough it's not fun to clean up the messes, it is a good way for babies to learn to eat - especially with a spoon. Practice makes perfect, and it looks like he needs a lot of practice! Very cute!
ReplyDeleteMarci -- as the dairy queen, I am thrilled that Wells is eating yogurt - packed with calcium, potassium, vitamin D and 6 other essential nutrients. Unfortunately, those nutrients only work when consumed -- not smeared on the skin!! But... he sure looks cute!!! Miss you guys, Dottie
